 THE REGION OF PUGLIAPuglia, the furthest southern region found in 
                the heel of Italy is comprised of three provinces: Brindisi, 
                Taranto and Lecce. This premier 
                agricultural and tourist mecca centered in the coastal area of 
                Salento produces some of the world's finest olive 
                oils and wines, and is home to the group of approximately 30 producers 
                who have brought this celebration of taste to New York and Washington, 
                D.C.
 The steady year 
                round climate of 60 degrees makes this a "must-see" 
                place to visit when traveling Italian Style, 
                but it's the cool sea breezes of the Ionian, Adriatic and Tyrrhenian 
                Seas that characterize the olive and wine crops that its producers 
                have so proudly brought to America. There are over 40 native grape 
                varietals, with 25 registered origins (docs) of which 9 are in 
                the Salento area.  Look forward to 
                tasting their two most famous grape varietals, Negroamaro, 
                and the Primitivo. You will be tasting many food 
                and wine pairings using the region's incredible olive oils, thanks 
                to the talented chefs this group has lined up for you.  Puglia 
                produces 13% of all olive oils world wide, and if you consider 
                yourself an aficionado in any way shape or form, you will want
