Yorkville Cellars, in Mendocino County, California, was one of the pioneers of Eco-friendly farming in the wine industry. Their vineyards have been certified by the California Certified Organic Famers (CCOF) since 1986, and they've made great wine from the beginning. Recently, our panel tasted a selection of the winery's current releases.

Review:
A bouquet of bing cherries, cranberries, and fresh minerals greets the senses. A sip reveals flavors of cranberry, green apple, and cherry. A vibrant wine with a food friendly acidity, if you prefer your Rosé with some pizazz, give this bottle a try. Less than 300 cases produced.

Review:
The nose offers aromas of red berries and white peach that open up into traces of custard and grain. A sip delivers flavors of cranberries and red grapefruit, along with hints of citrus zest and grain. Bright, tart, and complex, it could make a lovely aperitif for your Thanksgiving meal. Less than 300 cases were made.

Aromas of blackberries, blueberries, and currants meld with hints of earth and creamy oak on the nose. Flavors of blackberry, currant, and black cherry come together with suggestions of sweet spice and earth on the palate. Dark and supple, with rich tannins, enjoy a bottle with a hearty Mexican dish. 300 cases were made.

Aromatics of raspberries, blackberries, and cherries mingle with notes of spice and smoky oak on the nose. The palate delivers flavors of raspberry and bing cherry that unfol into nuances of white pepper and herbs. An elegant, yet bright wine with plush tannins, fans of lively reds will enjoy this bottle very much. About 300 cases produced.

A bouquet of pineapple, sweet citrus fruit, and a few nutty, earthy suggestions rise up from a glass. Flavors of apricot, sweet pineapple, and lemon meld with notes of honey and almond paste. A lush, rich dessert wine, enjoy a bottle with a almond, apricot, or pear torte. About 100 cases were made.
