Manhattan s Solo Restaurant Engages Guest
                  Executive Chef Eli Kirshtein
to Offer Daily Prix-Fixe Lunch and Dinner Menus
                New York,
NY; January 15, 2010 Solo Restaurant announces today
the newest addition to its kitchen, Guest Executive Chef and
former Top Chef chef'testant Eli Kirshtein.
                Taking on a new
culinary challenge, Kirshtein joins the New American Kosher
restaurant in the atrium of the Sony building in Midtown Manhattan,
to offer an eclectic mix of prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus,
with new additions daily. Solo is a fantastic restaurant, where
New York City tastemakers have created a new culinary trend
in the Kosher-style of preparing food, said Kirshtein. I'm
am thrilled that a restaurant with such a unique combination
of New American Kosher cuisine, currently making an impact on
the New York City culinary scene, has approached me to complement
an already exciting menu. While I am not a trained Kosher chef,
along with my team at Solo, I plan to create excellent dishes
that just happen to be prepared with specific ingredients in
mind. Almost like a Top Chef challenge, my tenure at Solo is
a project I look forward to conquering.
                Most recently
based out of Atlanta, Kirshtein will bring his personality,
style and distinctive taste for flavors to a new city, creating
inventive dishes using locally sourced ingredients. The prix-fixe
lunch and dinner menus, consisting of a three-course option
for $45 or a five-course option for $65, will accompany the
existing à la cartemenu. “Eli Kirshtein is an outstanding
and focused chef, who will take Kosher cuisine to a new level,"
said Joey Allaham, owner of Solo Restaurant.
                We are privileged
to have him in our kitchen and excited to see how he blends
his already unique style with our New American Kosher fare.
As a non-Kosher chef by trade, having Chef Eli prepare food
for our guests will further exemplify that Kosher is a significant
culinary trend, becoming a fixture in the restaurant scene.
