Nobu at Eden Roc Miami Official Grand Opening in December

Nobu Hotels, the luxury hotel brand from chef Nobu Matsuhisa and partners Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, has just opened their third outpost the Nobu Hotel Miami Beach. Much like their first hotel, which opened in 2013 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, this will again be a hotel-within-a-hotel at the Eden Roc Miami Beach, a 1956 Neo-Baroque architectural gem designed by Morris Lapidus. The hotel comprises 203 David Rockwell-designed rooms-including three penthouse suites-a guest-only pool, and art collection curated by philanthropist Peter Brant of The Brant Foundation. Artist Josh Smith was commissioned to create a colorful, abstract piece titled Florida Set to hang in the lobby's lounge.

General feeling is, the real highlight of any stay here will surely be the food. The Upscale sushi brand's third hotel in the Miami Beach Eden Roc Hotel recently showcased newly renovated floors to guests, where a preview of coming attractions was a huge hit with guests enjoying the chic Japanese inspired interiors and architecture by David Rockwell.

Guests enjoy the use of numerous pools, a private Nobu pool, relaxing spa with a full menu of services, and rooms with ocean, pool and Intracoastal views. The full renovation is scheduled for completion in October, with an official grand opening in December.

Nobu Restaurant-Bar

Aside from a signature Nobu restaurant, the hotel has an in-room dining menu filled with classic dishes like Black Cod Miso and Japanese Wagyu steak, as well as a few "Only in Miami" items like the Nobu Cuban, made with Miami Smokers pork belly, Jamón ibérico, and Manchego cheese; and a Roc Punch cocktail, mixed with Miami Club Rum, ginger, mango, lime, coconut purée, and organic agave.

Helene Henderson, author of the Farm to Fork cookbook, and the brainchild behind Malibu Farm on the Malibu Pier, as well as the restaurant in the former Alice's Restaurant, an iconic Malibu eatery facing the pacific coast highway in Malibu will be opening on the beach front cabana area at Nobu. Henderson's wish came true on Malibu Pier when the 1,200 square foot eatery she opened was a hit, and today serves 3,000 people on any given weekend. Helmed by Swedish born Chef Helene Henderson, the restaurant is best known for its farm-to-fork fare such as the vegan chopped salad, broccoli mashed potatoes, vegetable crust pizzas, and spaghetti squash lasagna. She hoped this small Malibu concept would be a flagship of something bigger, and it certainly has been. Nobu Hotel Miami plans to open an outpost of Malibu's popular Malibu Farm, and will include them in additional properties.

This season, room rates start at $529 a night. (The hotel will be in a soft-opening phase through October.) Nobu currently has hotels in Las Vegas and Manila. Nobu Ryokan Malibu and Nobu Hotel Shoreditch are both "coming soon" and will be followed by hotels in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Los Cabos, Mexico, Chicago, and Bahrain.
