Executive
Chef Jeremy Morrow of Bistro 43 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Influenced by chefs like Alice Waters and Charlie
Trotter, chef Jeremy Morrow of Des Moines, Iowa is
passionate about supporting local farmers and using
seasonal produce. Consequently, Morrow sees his cuisine
as a collaboration between himself and the farmers
that produce his ingredients. Often, local farmers
personally bring their product to his doorstep and
he shapes his menu around what they have available.

Although
Morrow specializes in Eastern cuisine, he grew up
in a landmark of the west: Nashville, Tennessee. The
first time he got his hands on fine cuisine was as
a waiter in Nashville restaurants. But working in
the food and wine milieu inspired him to trade his
bow tie for an apron and pursue culinary arts. He
made the chef’s pilgrimage to California where
he attended California Culinary Academy in San Francisco.
After working in several restaurants in California,
Oregon, and Alaska, he opened two restaurants in Des
Moines: Bistro 43 and Forty Three Restaurant and Bar.
His latest project is an upscale neighborhood bar
in Des Moines called The Star Bar.
