                  Wine With Benefits of Red

                Lovers
of white wine may soon be able to get the same cardiovascular
benefits as those who drink red wine.
                Red
wine has been shown to be rich in antioxidants that fight heart
                  disease.
                It
lowers the risk of a heart attack, and if you are unlucky enough
to have one, it may lower your risk of having another.
                Studies
have shown red wine can also raise your levels of HDL (good
cholesterol) and lower LDL (bad cholesterol).
                White
wine lags behind its „heartier‰ brother, since it
is not made with grape skins. Grape skins give red wine its
color and contain heart-healthy polyphenol compounds.
But scientists at Technion, the Israeli Institute of Technology,
have found a way to boost the polyphenols in wine 600 percent
by incubating squeezed grapes in alcohol for eighteen hours
                  before removing their skins.
                The
wine produced by the new method tastes and looks like regular
white wine, but contains the same amount of antioxidants found
                  in red wine.
                The
new white wine is expected to be available in the United States
by the end of the year.
