Release of Marilyn Cabernet 2002 Completes
Second Vertical Collection

Napa, CA, November 30, 2006 - Marilyn Wines today released the 2002 vintage of Marilyn Cabernet, completing the second five-vintage vertical collection of this rare and highly collectible wine.

Only 376 cases of Marilyn Cabernet 2002 were produced, and each bottle is individually numbered. The wine is a blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot from the Yountmill and Beckstoffer vineyards in the heart of Napa Valley. Winemaker John McKay is especially pleased with the balance and elegance of this wine. "All of the depth and fine fruit flavors of cassis and black currants are present," notes McKay, "and the Merlot addition softens the more aggressive texture of the Cabernet Sauvignon, without detracting from the wine's ability to cellar quite well."

Each vintage of Marilyn Cabernet from 1998 to 2002 features a unique digital interpretation of an utterly glamorous photo portrait of Marilyn Monroe. Susann Ortega of Ortega Design Studios has rendered each of the five labels in a highly imaginative a colorful style that, taken together, creates a stunning visual impression.

The first vertical collection of Marilyn Cabernet (1993 to 1997) today sells for $1,700 and is offered in a wooden display case. The just-completed second vertical collection of Marilyn Cabernet (1998 to 2002) is also offered in the display case and costs $480. A single bottle of Marilyn Cabernet 2002 sells at retail for $38.00.

In 1993 Marilyn Wines began making Marilyn Cabernet to accompany Marilyn Merlot (current release, 2004, $26.00) and Norma Jeane, A Young Merlot (current release, 2006, $10.50). Today the family includes the 2004 Velvet Collection (1.5L in a dramatic presentation box, $200 - or 3-bottle set including 750ml, 1.5L, and 3L bottles in an elegant wooden display, $1,000).
