Wines of the Week: Bargains for Your BBQ

This labor day weekend (or any weekend for that matter), if you're getting together with friends and family to enjoy some good,old-fashion BBQ, then our tasting panel has some wines for you. They're all reasonably price and tasty. Cheers and enjoy!

Review:
Blackberry, cherry, and plum aromas come together with accents of dark chocolate and toasty brown spice on the nose. With a sip, flavors of red plums and cherries unfold into elements of cocoa, cinnamon, and clove. Offering plush tannins and a balanced acidity, it will pair well with a hamburger.

Review:
Blackberry, blueberry, and black cherry aromas meld with overtones of earth, cedar, and violets on the nose. The palate reveals flavors of blackberries and blueberries that flow into expressions of floral earth, cedar, and anise. Sanity tannins frame the wine nicely and there's plenty of savory notes. Match it with spicy BBQ dishes.

Review:
The nose brings together elements of cherries, blackberries, and blueberries with suggestions of clove, graham cracker, and licorice. A sip delivers flavors of blueberry, blackberry, and black cherry that mingle among allusions of brown spice, pie crust, and anise. Fairly rich but still lively, it's a wine that will match of nicely with BBQ.

Notes of cranberries, cherries, and raspberries combine with hints of white pepper and spring flowers on the nose. Lots of red fruit is backed up by expressions of spice and floral earth on the palate. Silky tannins and a balanced acidity make this an approachable wine. Pair with pull pork sandwiches.
