Winery of the Week:
Lone Madrone - Paso Robles, Ca

At Lone Madrone, they believe strongly that in order to produce wines of the highest caliber, you must first start with grapes that are of exceptional quality. To that end, they go to great lengths to procure grapes from small, locally owned, and sustainable farmed vineyards on the west side of Paso Robles. Based on what we tasted, those efforts are paying off.

Blackberry, dark cherry, and blueberry aromas mingle with nuances of dark chocolate, white pepper, and earth on the nose. The palate offers flavors of blueberries, blackberries, and plums that flow into allusions of cocoa, spice, and minerals. A mouth-filling blend with rich tannins, a beef stew would make a fine companion. 539 cases were made.
