Winery
of the Week:
Hunt Cellars - Paso Robles, Ca
David
Hunt,
owner and winemaker, spent years looking for the perfect venue
for his wines and eventually settled on a uniquely beautiful
property of over 550 acres in the foothills and mountains of
Creston. This area met David's criteria for topography, soil
composition, unparalleled beauty, and ideal terroirs - its varied
elevations and mineral soil composites mirror some of the world's
great wine region. Given the quality of wine at Hunt Cellars,
it's clear David made a great choice.

Aromas of blueberries, blackberries, and cherries interweave
with suggestions of sarsaparilla root and clove on the
nose. A sip delivers flavors of bramble fruit, blueberry,
and plum, alongside nuances of anise, sarsaparilla root,
and minerals. Opulent fruit and a round mouthfeel make
this a fine match for chicken mole. 125 cases were made.

Fragrances of cherries, plums, mocha, and cedar greet
the senses. On the palate, flavors of ripe cherry, red
currant, and black plum come together with traces of vanilla,
espresso bean, and smoky oak. With silky tannins and luxurious
fruit, it's beautiful sipped alone but would pair quite
well with wild mushroom risotto. 200 cases produced.

Ripe tropical and sweet citrus fruits play with notes
of toasted coconut on the nose. A sip reveals flavors
of peach, mango, and pineapple, moving into elements of
candied coconut and sweet cream. Mouth-filling and much
more opulent than most Sauv Blancs, savor this one on
